Description: Victory Points is our first camp of the summer, a week of game play and problem-solving based on some of the most interesting events in human history. Each day starts out with background information on pivotal historical events to give each student the knowledge of “the way things turned out”. Then, students can put that knowledge to the test in designer board games and simulations. Students will choose their own strategies – relive the outcomes that shaped the world or try new tactics that might have changed the future…for better or worse. Each game session will be followed by a strategy session to discuss the mechanisms of game play, short and long-term strategies, and which tactics may prove more successful in the afternoon session.
Outdoor activites are designed to coincide and support the historical content of the day. Exercises and physical challenges will give the students a chance to get out and play and get the blood pumping for the afternoon session. Students should bring a lunch, but Thirdfloorgamers.com will provide snacks and beverages.
